Sitara Marin, LMHCA

Sitara Marin, LMHCA, is an mHealth Support Specialist for the BRiTE Center. Working in collaboration with community mental health centers across Washington state, Sitara assists clients presenting with psychosis by implementing an evidence-based mobile health intervention, called FOCUS.

 

Prior to her position at UW, Sitara completed her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Northwestern University, her master’s in spiritual psychology from the University of Santa Monica, and her undergrad in psychology from Virginia Tech. At Northwestern, Sitara’s research focused on counselor multiculturalism education and self-awareness as a vehicle for breaking help-seeking barriers in marginalized client populations. Sitara has gained clinical experience with community health agencies and as a crisis counselor during the COVID-19 pandemic working with youth and families.

 

Sitara enjoys stand-up paddle board yoga classes, spending time with her two daughters, and dancing like no one is watching.
